Costume illustration for film

By getting into their heads. That’s how I illustrate other people’s designs. By understanding their creative mechanisms. Getting to know their backgrounds and influences. It’s all hugely rewarding for me.

I love fantasy films. They play with people’s imaginations. So when I was asked to be part of the creative construction of characters for the Harry Potter films, I got excited. Researching images, creating concepts, imagining scenes in the film. Every part of the creative process inspired me. It brought me infinite possibilities for time periods and fashion styles. No creative limits.

The same with ‘Sweeney Todd’, ‘Children of Men’, ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and the Brazilians films ‘O Guarani’, ‘O Auto da Compadecida’ and ‘Caramuru’, where I was the designer’s assistant.
